Hi I've been a councillor for a few years! Just recently it appears that everything myself and a fellow councillor have to say is poo pooed! We wondered if we could write an article in our local rag to air some of our views because we feel people might think we are ignoring them! Basically people sometimes elderly don't attend meetings but catch us on the mobile library bus to pass comments about certain things in the village - they won't come to meetings as they reckon they are too old! When nothing is done on the council we seem to be getting it in the neck! Can we put something in the press and what can we do about getting the rest of the council to listen to the views we raise on behalf of the local people - are we being disrespected??
Thanks! |

Why are you and your fellow Councillor being ignored by other members?
Have you voiced your concerns on the matter with your Clerk? |

Absolutely -- all councillors should as a matter of routine send in their comments and views tot e local press and radio and on the web etc. That is what they are there for -- in part anyway. |
