Due to having to get new councillors signed up as bank signatories and no way of paying bills until they are signed up, can the Parish Clerk sign cheques which may total over two thousand pounds and have the parish council reimburse the Clerk at a later date once they have sorted out the signatories. |

Its probably too late now, but I don't see there would be any problem provided there is a complete and transparent audit trail. |

OK, now you are a little above my pay grade
I still think that would be OK, but I would get some advice from someone who knows, how about your Local Association?
Where are you? Our Local Association SALC (Sussex Association of Local Councils) is vey good on stuff like this.
