Is anyone else having a lot of requests under the Freedom of Inmformation Act 2001.
If so are you charging out for it and if so how much?
We seem to have a lot of requests and its encroaching on my other work. |

We are not getting too many, but were advised that it would be acceptable to charge around £10 admin fee for each one. It probably costs more to us than that to actually process the FOI request, but it seems to be enough to put people off. It does seem a bit much to expect the poor clerk to deal with so many when he has all the rest of his duties also!! |

It certainly does.
Thanks for replying, I will certainly suggest charging.

The general rule ois that a concil cannot charge for replying to an FOI request unless the cost would be over £400 to the council -- and that can be queried.
Best to just answer the FOIs and get on with it. Most FOIs can be answered with a copy of the relevant minute. |
