Can someone confirm something for me?
Are the public allowed access to all minutes of any parish council?
I am a councillor and am trying to put together the history of our village. We went solo from a JPC in 2007 and now various things have raised their heads.
I want to see the minutes of the JPC from 1973 through to 2007 to get a paper trail on some issues.
So, is any memeber of the public allowed to ask for these and if so, is there any part of the LGAct that confirms this.

Yes the public have access to all Parish Council minutes apart from I believe the Private and Confidentila items. People can request to see copies of the minutes by contacting the clerk or formally making a request under the FOI Act.
Failing that contact the Information Commisioners Dept for advice. |
